Work Experience

2008 – present
Freelance work, Denver, CO
Along with traditional print projects, I’m currently producing websites using WordPress. Working with WordPress themes leaves me free to focus on what I do best: usability and information design. Projects include Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado, Manitos, and Movingvoice.
2000 – 2008
National Jewish Health, Denver, CO
National Jewish expected that its print publications reflect the hospital’s reputation for excellence and innovation. The Design Studio was expected to do this on limited budgets. “Low budget,” however, doesn’t mean a monograph or brochure has to look cheap. We excelled at giving our clients high-level design with reasonable cost.
1998 – 2000
IXL Denver, Denver, CO
It was a short ride, but I learned a lot from this rapidly-expanding, then rapidly-contracting, Internet agency, including teamwork and the value of innovative technologies.
1996 – 1997
Quark, Inc., Denver, CO
At Quark I worked with a talented group of professional designers and developed
excellent traditional design and production skills.
1995–1996
Contract work, Denver, CO
Contract work for design studios in the Denver area, including Denver Museum
of Natural History,  Archetype, and David Warren Design.
1988 – 1992
Peggy Miller Associates, Washington, DC
Peggy Miller Associates produced reports and brochures for non-profits and trade associations in the Washington, DC area. As the designer I composed simple, bold designs, ensuring that our clients’ publications stood apart from the rest in this publications-heavy industry.
